FAQ
Questions patients ask us.
How the clinics work, how booking works, and where to go next. Anything specific to your own situation is best confirmed with the clinic itself.
What kind of clinics are these?
Health MediCo Connect clinics are designed around the patient rather than the queue: a Patient Advocate greets you instead of a receptionist window, there are short wait times, calm living-room style spaces, relaxing music and refreshments, and you check in on an iPad instead of filling in a clipboard.
How do I find a clinic near me?
Every clinic has its own page with its address, phone number, opening hours and booking destination. There are clinics across ACT, NSW, QLD, SA, VIC and WA.
Browse all locationsHow do I book an appointment?
Two ways. Many clinics take bookings through their own online booking page (HotDoc, HealthEngine or the clinic's own site), where you can see real availability. Alternatively, send an appointment request through our booking form with your service, clinic and preferred date and time, and the clinic team will get back to you.
Open the booking pageIs a booking form request a confirmed appointment?
No. A request is a message to the clinic, held privately by the site team and passed on with your details. The clinic confirms availability, the right appointment type and fees with you before anything is booked. When you use a clinic's own online booking page, you choose the appointment type and time directly with the clinic.
Can I book a specific type of appointment, like a health check or a mental health consultation?
Each service has its own page and booking journey, and the booking form lets you name the service you're after. The clinic confirms the appropriate appointment type and length with you — appointment options differ between clinics and practitioners.
See all servicesCan I see a doctor by phone or video?
Telehealth appointments by phone or video are part of the offering. Each clinic sets its own telehealth arrangements, so check the clinic's requirements before booking and confirm eligibility with them.
About telehealthI'm not sure what service I need. Can you help?
Use the "What are you looking for?" helper on the homepage: describe your situation in plain words and it points to relevant services and booking options. It's a wayfinding tool — it does not give medical advice and doesn't replace talking to a doctor.
What does the patient app do?
The Health MediCo Connect app lets you book and manage appointments, read articles from your doctor, view your medical summary and letters, see medications and set reminders, and manage payments and invoices.
What will my appointment cost?
Fees are set by each clinic and vary by location, practitioner and appointment type. Check the clinic's page and confirm fees with the clinic when you book. Nothing on this site is a quote.
What are the clinics' opening hours?
Hours differ by clinic and many change on weekends. Each clinic page lists its hours where they're published — check the page for your clinic and confirm with the clinic directly.
Find a clinicDo you give medical advice?
No. This site helps you find a service and a clinic and explains how booking works. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment — that happens in your appointment with a practitioner. If something is urgent, call 000. For crisis support, call Lifeline on 13 11 14.
I'm a doctor interested in opening a clinic. Where do I start?
There's an article on the foundations of opening a medical clinic — understanding your community, choosing a location and creating a space that puts patients first.
