Patient journey
From finding a clinic to walking out the door.
Six steps, start to finish — how people find a Health MediCo Connect clinic, book an appointment, and what happens before, during and after the visit.
- 01
Describe what you're looking for
Use the "What are you looking for?" helper on the homepage, or browse the services list directly. You describe your situation in plain words and the helper points to relevant services — it's a wayfinding tool, not medical advice.
- 02
Choose your clinic
Every clinic has its own page with its address, hours, phone number and booking destination — 15 locations across six states. Services, practitioners and fees vary by location, so check the clinic's details before you commit.
- 03
Pick how to book
There are two paths. Many clinics take bookings through their own online booking page (HotDoc, HealthEngine or the clinic's own site), where you see real availability. You can also send an appointment request through our booking form and the clinic team will get back to you.
- 04
Your request reaches the clinic
A booking form request is held privately by the site team and passed to the clinic with your service, preferred clinic, date and time. The clinic confirms availability, the right appointment type and fees with you — a submitted request is not a confirmed appointment.
- 05
Your visit
Arrive to a living room, not a waiting room: a Patient Advocate greets you, there are refreshments and relaxing music, and you check in on an iPad instead of filling in a clipboard. Short waits and calm rooms are part of the design.
- 06
After your appointment
The Health MediCo Connect app keeps your appointments, medical summary, letters, medication reminders and invoices in one place. Follow-ups can happen in person or by phone and video telehealth, with the same clinic and the same doctor where possible.
Good to know
Booking sites are the clinics' own
External booking links (HotDoc, HealthEngine and clinic pages) are entry points, not service pre-selections. You confirm the appointment type and availability with the clinic itself.
Requests are not confirmations
A request sent through this site is a message to the clinic, held privately. The clinic confirms the time, appointment length and fees with you before anything is booked.
Every clinic is different
Practitioners, appointment types, services and fees are set by each location. Check the clinic's page and ask the clinic directly about anything specific to your situation.
Nothing here is medical advice
This site helps you find a service and a clinic. If something is urgent, call 000. For crisis support, call Lifeline on 13 11 14.
